HOW TO INSTALL TONEBLOC

TONEbloc is held in place by the tension of the strings. To install:

step 1

Firstly, remove the pegs from the bridge of your guitar.

step 2

Then, kink the eyelet end of the two outer E strings with the hole of the eyelet perpendicular to the kink, approximately 5mm from the ball.

step 3

Now feed the two E strings through the bridge and out of the sound hole. Hook them into TONEbloc’s grooves.

step 4

Kinking the string in step 2 means it should ‘lock in’ to the corresponding groove on TONEbloc once you have fed it through. Use two bridge pegs to hold the E strings in place on the angled side of TONEbloc. These can be removed shortly.

step 5

Now pull both E strings so that they in-turn pull the TONEbloc into position. It locates beneath the bridge with the flat side against the inside of the bridge and soundboard. Be careful not to pinch any pickup wires. Then wind the strings onto the machine heads with just enough tension to hold TONEbloc in place, so not too much.

step 6

Use a small screwdriver, wooden chopstick or similar item to poke through the empty bridge holes to ensure that TONEbloc’s holes are correctly aligned with your guitar’s bridge holes.

step 7

Kink the remaining four strings as per step 3.

step 8

Insert them into through the bridge holes then pull to lock them in position, in TONEbloc’s corresponding grooves. Now wind them onto the machine heads.

step 9

After applying tension to all of the strings the chopstick can be used to push out the two E string pegs to the inside of your guitar. Although you probably won’t be able to see it on the inside unless you use a mirror or small inspection camera, your correctly installed TONEbloc should look like this.

CONGRATULATIONS, you have successfully installed TONEbloc. Tune-up and play.

Note that your pegs are no longer required, but can be re-inserted if you prefer the look for cosmetic reasons.
